We are the UK’s largest gas distribution network, bringing gas to 11 million homes and businesses. We manage a network of more than 82,000 miles of pipes, most of them underground, which transport gas throughout the North West, West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England and North London.
Modelling gas distribution networks for leak detection has many benefits for proactive response and emissions management and being DPLA an innovation project our modelling methodology has developed and adapted to balance business needs and data limitations. The primary focus for the session is the development of machine learning models for gas leak detection undertaken in the project beta phase, the results obtained, and how they will inform the DPLA solution.
